Story
Occupation:
Customer Service Officer @ Snowy Hydro Ltd
About me:
I am a 44 year old local Cooma girl. I worked for 21 years in the Early Childhood sector and taught many local children. I am married to Martin and have three beautiful daughters, Molly (18), Sophie (16), and Lilly (13). The most precious things in the world to me are family and friends and I love spending time with them. For the past 17 months I have been working with an amazing team at the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre where I engage with people in the community on a daily basis.
Why am I participating in Monaro Spectacular:
I have had several people close to me affected and lost to cancer. It's a wonderful opportunity to be involved in a fundraising event where a diverse group of people work together to create strong community connections for those who need it most. I believe "You miss 100% of the chances you don't take", so mcCr you have inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and do something positive in our community.
My Choreographers are:
Tennielle Casanova & Heidi Pernitsch
Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
