Story
Occupation:
Student Learning Support Officer
About me:
A Bombala gal through & through!
In saying that I have resided in Sydney and Port Macquarie, but Mercy St is where my heart lies. Tis here, my husband Brian & I have raised our two beautiful children Jessie & Toby.
I have managed my own hairdressing business and in 2003 a new career opportunity came my way. When a vacancy came available to support students with learning difficulties and special needs at Bombala High School. To this day I’m still making a difference in young people’s lives.
I have a strong sense of community values and have enjoyed volunteering many hours to local committees and fundraising organisations.
A sports enthusiast and I love all aspects of what sport has to offer (even training). The addition of Ladies league tag to my sporting repertoire has given me the opportunity to play for Merimbula Hot Doggies, Cooma Fillies and Bombala High Heelers. Many friendships & memorable moments have been created. Oh and I have even been lucky enough to have some bling in the trophy cabinet!
Why I am participating:
Because I’m passionate about making a difference in somebodies life!
I may only be a small proportion in the big scheme of things, but every cent raised will benefit our local Monaro communities and Cancer research. Over the years I’ve supported family members and friends who have faced the challenges and battles with Cancer. Therefore accepting this invitation was a given.
Thank you mcCr committee for giving me the opportunity to take the stage in your extravaganza. I feel very privileged, honoured & still in awe of your previous productions. A truly professional team and an inspiration to all!
I’ve always had a passion for entertaining and making people smile. I’ve played many roles as my alter egos & enjoyed every minute. So my biggest challenge will be to stay structured and scripted instead of adlib and random.
Good luck choreographers!
My Choreographers are:
Georgie Clarke, Chloe Hope & Pia Jackson
Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
