Monique Perkins
Story
Occupation:
Dietitian - Monique Perkins- Accredited Practising Dietitian | Eating Disorder Coordinator for Southern NSW Local Health District.
About me:
I live with my husband Paul and our 2 beautiful dogs in Bombala. I keep myself busy across various different roles between my private Dietitian practice, working for NSW Health as the Area Eating Disorder Coordinator, managing the local Bombala swimming pool and supporting Paul’s gym businesses.
I am especially passionate about eating for health and general health promotion.
In my spare time I love to catch up with family and friends, as well as play League Tag for the Bombala High Heelers.
Why I am participating in Monaro Spectacular:
I have seen firsthand the exceptional positive impact this fundraising can have on a person suffering from the effects of cancer. It is a wonderful local cause near and dear to my heart and I am honoured to be a part of such a fantastic initiative.
My Choreographers are:
Georgie Clarke, Pia Jackson & Chloe Hope
Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
