Story

Occupations
Mark is a solicitor and Kirsty is a registered nurse

About us
We settled in Cooma 21 years ago after Mark left the Regular Army at the end of a 15 year career.  We love Cooma and it is where we have built our home and our lives.  There is always something fun happening.  Cooma is still home to our 3 children who have all grown up and moved away.

Mark has been a member of the town fire brigade for over 20 years and is now the Deputy Captain and is also a keen cyclist.

Kirsty is unit manager of The Cooma Community Nursing Team and the Cooma Oncology Unit. She enjoys walking and keeping fit with her friends.

We both love travelling and camping on the coast and in the mountains.

Why are we participating in Monaro Spectacular
For a chance to contribute to a very worthwhile and well organised charity, whilst participating in a wonderful community event with our friends.

Our Choreographers are:
Stephanie Blumer and Hannah Knight

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated

The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
