About me:

GP working both at The Bombala Street Surgery and Cooma Hospital. Moved to Cooma 3 years ago with the intent to stay 6 months and I'm still here!

 



Why I am participating in Monaro Spectacular:

I see on a day to day basis the impact that a diagnosis of cancer can have on patients and their loved ones. Often the patient's journey is prolonged and complex, multiple appointments with multiple specialist and lots of travel back and forth for treatments. This isn't even taking in consideration the emotional and financial toll it has on patient's and their families.

 



I'm hoping that through our fundraiser we can make life that little bit easier for those facing their battle with cancer.

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated

The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
