Chereen & David Giovannini
Story
OCCUPATIONS:
Chereen - Marketing & PR Support, birdsnest
David - Procurement Professional, Snowy Hydro
ABOUT US:
We are relatively newbies to the Snowy Region having migrated across the Nullarbor from Perth, WA approximately two years ago. Our oldest daughter resides in Perth and our youngest daughter lives in Tuscany, Italy. All other family connections are scattered across South Africa and Italy. Having no family in Cooma does not mean we are lonely; we have made many wonderful friends since settling down in Cooma.
We thoroughly enjoy the friendly nature of Cooma, the country lifestyle, and the many and varied landscapes in close proximity. On a weekend morning you will find Chereen with friends on a brisk walk around town, while David will be in a group of cyclists riding to there and back. Thereafter a collective catch-up on the past week's happenings and a coffee is mandatory.
Living in the Monaro would not be complete without sheep. We have recently acquired Binjura Station and are the proud owners of 4 sheep named Chop, Cutlet, Roast and Backstrap.
WHY ARE WE PARTICIPATING IN MONARO SPECTACULAR:
An invitation to participate in something as prestigious as the Monaro Spectacular is something not to be missed. It is an opportunity to contribute to raising funds and creating awareness for a very worthy cause in our community. Notwithstanding the risk of embarrassing ourselves repeatedly, we anticipate to have lots of fun, meet new and interesting people, and hopefully discover some hidden talents.
OUR CHOREOGRAPHERS ARE:
Stephanie Blumer and Hannah Knight
Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated
The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
